This is a proposal for augumented reality glasses interface for future maemo devices.

Augumented reality means that the glasses also display outside world view, or have a transparent display. So you can overlay the information from the device over the real world.

This will not work with current maemo devices so don't be limited by their functionality.

Consider a scenario in which you are allways connected and you have your glasses on everywhere you are(Hopefully they will look better soon and more like regular glasses). Also your device knows your location.

In this thread i would like to see comments on how would you like the interface to look like?

What information would you like to have displayed?

What would you find irritating or distracting?

Application ideas for this kind of UI?

@chemist: Yes we don't, at least at the moment, that is why i've posted this in brainstorm and not in accessories, or n900 forums.

As this is the first consumer device that supports augmented reality using eye mounted display all I wanted was a discussion about future maemo devices supporting those or similar glasses.

I have a pair of WRAP 920 (not the AR version) in transit :-) with Nokia adaptor cable.

I'll keep you posted on how they work in video mode.

those seems to be mostly parts, not ready for sale products.

most people think they will never come to market... Been checking them for a long time.

The Wrap 920 are there now - and you can add 6deg head tracker to them. They have a VGA adaptor available now and a HDMI on the way. Plus a stereo cam solution is on the way.

Plus they have a Nokia/Archos compatible video cable.

I'll post a review when they are in da house.
