I have a question about the eMMC of my Nokia N900.

I want to restore my entire phone to factory defaults (also remove settings, bookmarks, passwords, apps, ...). I already reflashed my firmware with Nokia Software Update, but my settings were still there (/home/user/.*) - only the apps were gone.

If I would reflash the firmware using this command:
Code:
sudo ./flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
will all my settings go away or would I also have to reflash the eMMC using the vanilla image?

Thanks!

just flash your emmc first:

and then reflash your device's firmware
then you have a factory default phone again.

the Maps application will work as usual but you will need to download the maps needed
Anyone know where we can download the maps we need after re-flashing?

Blah, I don't have a machine with XP and I don't think it works on Vista/7. I connect my phone via USB, select PC Suite mode and open the Nokia Map Loader from my desktop and it keeps saying "Waiting for phone."

Sometimes it detects the phone and I get the attached error. Any ideas? The error is trying to be helpful but doesn't exactly explain what to do. I haven't done the flash yet. I'm just playing around with it to know what to do when I do the flashing. Think that's why? I already have the maps on my phone and have used it and it works fine.
