You do have a button for selecting the General Profile.
But since you're on the General profile now, your next option is the Silent profile, so that's what showing on the screen. Select it, then you'll see the General profile where Silent is now.
As far as flashlight and brightness applets. You access them off the main screen by tapping in the signal area.

The attachment shows a printscreen when i press my power button after updating to W 3.2010.02-8.
I'm pretty sure it looks different before update, used to have a button for selecting 'General' profile.
Apps such as flashlight, simple brightness applet are not showing up here either. Have tried reflashing, twice, still the same.
Is this what everyone else is seeing?
p.s. noob here, go easy, i did search the forums but didn't come across anyone describing this
