I recently took delivery of my N800, and installed the VNC viewer 0.6 and installed RealVNC on my XP machine. So far, I am trying to connect to my home PC behind the router (I have already forwarded a port and know my IP). However, the VNC viewer on the tablet just does not appear to even attempt to connect before just saying "Connection failed". I am testing this with my tablet also behind the same router, so I tried both using the external IP of the router to connect, and also the internal. I am pretty sure the server is running correctly, as I can open the browser on the tablet, and enter the port for the Java viewer, and the title says "VNC Java Viewer" or something like that, just the viewer on the tablet does not want to connect. Any ideas?

did you check your software firewall, make sure it doesn't block the vnc? Windows XP SP2 might just block it by itself.

interesting. I know my router doesnt have the firewall active... But i'll double check it. I did see that some service may prevent it. I will look into these things and see what i find...

Oh Jeez, it was a license issue, I downloaded the Personal and not Free server from RealVNC... working great now.
