For all the maemo developers out there, I was wondering how hard it would be to create an app or plug-in that would allow you to record live streams from the media player app. I know that there is a version on the desktop for both Linux and Windows which allow you to rip music from winamp and such.

I think it would be a great app to have as there have been numerous times while i was listening to the internet radio I wanted to record what I was listening to.

@maemo community: what are you thoughts about it?

Already got recaller, but thanks for the info. However, wouldnt it record background noise if your playing the music? Or does it mute the mic when the device is playing any type of system sound?

a streamripper gui implementation for the web radio player would be so great.
There should be a record button.

STreamripper was already announced for maemo. But does it work on the n900?
