I've install gpodder to manage and download podcasts and I've added a few youtube channels to it.

Unfortunately I can't play these youtube videos with the mediaplayer and I don't understand why. KMplayer will play them but integrates poorly with gpodder, I have to manually open the files i kmplayer and they are not flagged as seen.

The mediaplayer tells me it's an invalid codec and thats the only error I get.

Any ideas how to fix this?

This is fixed in gPodder 2.5-1, which just entered Extras-Testing and should be in Extras in about ten days (that's the QA quarantine time). Please note that the fix will only be in effect for newly-downloaded files or files you redownload from YouTube.

As a workaround, you can rename the downloaded files with the file manager and then use click on the files in the file manager to open it with the built-in media player.

Sorry for this issue, but it's been caused by a website change on YouTube some weeks ago, over which I (obviously) have no control
