Hi all, I'm not sure whats happened, but while using Xterm to update some packages, it looks like media player has been uninstalled in the process. The icon has vanished from the main screen, and when I try to open an mp3 nothing happens. I'm not sure what the default name is for the inbuilt media player nor aware what the command is to reinstall. On my app manager its saying there is now a Maemo 5 update of 416kb and I need NSU to install it? Is this the media player?

Note:- I know it's only 416kb but if I install that update, will anything else be affected?

I don't think so. Since it is 416kb I think that is the media player. Try using app mnager or apt-get upgrade instead of a PC. If they don't work upgrade using the PC.

Try this is xterm
apt-get install (update name)

It happened to me once.I have installed it via xterminal

root
apt-get install mediaplayer


and it installed, brilliant, thanks again

Ahhh, thank you. I did search before I posted the thread but I did not expect that problem to be in a thread where people are asking if there are any music players with equalizers, but that will now keep me more vigilant in future searches.
