After exploring the Nokia for a week (absolutely great piece of machinery) I noticed a thing about the color quality of the screen.

When I load a 24 bit or 16bit colordepth picture or a 24 bit DivX AVI movie, it looks like not all of the possible colors are showing. It is best seen in shady background colors (also seen in the IceAge2 trailer movie from Nokia).

The display shows absolutely more than 256 colors but it looks like not of all the possible 65536 color are shown/used. The specs of the Nokia says that the screen can provide a maximum of 65536 colors (16 bit).

Is this a software or hardware limitation of the device or what could it be else?

Does anybody have any experience with this?

I've converted some video and after viewing them on the 770 I also suspect that the video player is not utilising 64K colours, as the videos look much worse than they do on my hx4700 which also has a 16-bit/64K colour screen.

Hopefully this is a software limitation.

If it is, it's also applied to showing pictures because they suffer with the same "problem".

Are there any other Nokia 770 "die-hards" who can share there insights in this matter?
