I was wondering if there was a tweak which told to the mediaplayer not to refresh EVERYTIME i start it up, and just load a list from the last time i opened it. I have about 26GB of music, iv oc'ed before, but battery drained way to quickly for me! I love this phone to pieces, me being a linux user and all, but playing music on it is getting more and more frustrating. Tried Mplayer and canola but they still kinda suck compared to the default one...if it wasnt for the refreshing all the time it would kick ***!

So is there maybe a command line or like mentioned earlier, a tweak i could use to disable media scanning and re-enable it when i actually shove media on my phone? Thanks!

I'd be pretty interested in this also. Also would like to know why (as of yesterday) Shuffle all Songs is playing ringtones as well x.x

Have you tried Symfonie? I've heard nothing but good from that application.

I have tried Symfonie but its too basic.

I dunno i really like the look of the default one, with widget and integration, but i know Mplayer does refresh every time, but Mplayer does it so quickly its not really noticeable, its just why does the actual media player take so long...so very annoying...

This is DEFINATELY one point for the iPhone...music player starts in just over a second!

And the ringtones? Are they in the same directory as your music? Shouldn't pick it up!

download tracker.cfg from the repositories and look in it, it'll tell you which folders its watching, remove the ringtone folder from the watch list if its watching it.

Sort of hoping Nokia sort the mediaplayer niggles out, although if you create playlists, you may prefer kmplayer
