How do you pick what folders mediabox can scan. I don't want all those crappy nokia ringtones and other sounds to show up at all in my mediabox.

The stock media player seems to do this as well. even if i move files out of .sounds they're still picked up for some reason.

thanks

The scanning consists of two components. For one, the media files reported by the Maemo tracker service are investigated (so it should see the same stuff as the Nokia Media Player), and then you can manually scan through the tap-and-hold menu of a folder item. If you do this too high in the folder hierarchy, you may get ringtones scanned, as they sit in "My Documents/Audio Clips" (or technically speaking in ~/MyDocs/.sounds).

Easiest way would be to use http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=47690 and play with the NoWatchDirectory settings etc.

Mediabox is STILL picking up extra stuff. The stock media player seems to be good now.

How do i completely delete the mediabox cache (im assuming it's caching something for some reason)

In Media Components info i notice "fileindex.FileScannerPrefs" - can we use this somehow to sort this out?

replying to my own post - i see that i had to clear mediaboxes index and then rebuild it. even though i have rescan on startup checked. is this a bug?

It's not really a bug. rescanning doesn't look for stuff that vanished from tracker. But maybe this should be implemented.
