I would love for my N900 media player to work like my old SE k750i phone's media player.

When locked and in my pocket.
Volume button works as usual, but by holding it will skip one song forward or back.
Pressing on the camera button will play/pause.

I found these commands to control the media player:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Phone_control

Pause what's currently playing
Code:
dbus-send --dest=com.nokia.mafw.renderer.Mafw-Gst-Renderer-Plugin.gstrenderer /com/nokia/mafw/renderer/gstrenderer com.nokia.mafw.renderer.pause
Play what's currently selected
Code:
dbus-send --dest=com.nokia.mafw.renderer.Mafw-Gst-Renderer-Plugin.gstrenderer /com/nokia/mafw/renderer/gstrenderer com.nokia.mafw.renderer.play
Play next mediafile
Code:
dbus-send --dest=com.nokia.mafw.renderer.Mafw-Gst-Renderer-Plugin.gstrenderer /com/nokia/mafw/renderer/gstrenderer com.nokia.mafw.renderer.next
Play previous mediafile
Code:
dbus-send --dest=com.nokia.mafw.renderer.Mafw-Gst-Renderer-Plugin.gstrenderer /com/nokia/mafw/renderer/gstrenderer com.nokia.mafw.renderer.previous
Then it should be possible to have an app read the buttons, when the phone is locked and media player is started.

Anyone have any idea's or suggestions?

with the new PR 1.2 the N900 is able to adjust the volume when the screen is locked, just press the vol-buttons!

This is a #1 idea on my wish list for the N900. I hate having to unlock the N900 to skip tracks forward or back when listening to music while driving. Using volume buttons to change tracks would be awesome!
