I had that option turned off from day 1 but didnt pay attention to it I'll turn it again to see if it does any good

you could be onto somthing and i believe u r spot on with the extra time it gives. i usually need to charge after 7 hours as i use my phone quite regular. i usually charge at around 4pm but its almost 6pm and i still got about 20% left. also i left 3g on and wifi on, but wifi not connected for the last 4hrs. thanks for the tip mate and im gonna try it again 2moro just to make sure times are correct.

why would this make a difference in battery life? when the phone is locked, the accelerometer stops monitoring the device's position? maybe it makes a difference if you always carry your phone in unlocked position which must be very rare?

I hope more people will report back on this as I am looking to get a used n900 but was also going to splurge for a mugen battery...perhaps if this really gives like %25 more battery I can forgo the mugen...
