Hi All

Usually i play music from my Nokia through my car stereo, it has a USB plug so i just plug her in and select mass storage mode and it works....

I can search folders from my car stereo but i cant seem to find the SD card i just got.. its working because i can see it on the Nokia filemanager all ok.

I wanted to be able to stick all my music on the SD card so i could put it between my laptop and phone easy enough and keep everything tidy.

Also when im at work i turn my bluetooth on my phone and i can browse all my files from my works laptop but again no sd card access.

Any ideas?

You simply plugin the device and select mass storage mode - Doing this, both the internal MMC and any SD card in your device are available to whatever you plugged it in to.
If you're having problems with this on your car stereo, i'd suggest the issue is being caused by limitations with the software your car stereo uses, in that it can only see a single external drive and/or simply uses the first one it registers, which afaik will always be the internal MMC.

I agree, this is almost certainly a limitation of your car, not the N900.

ah right! well thats it then!

its a new VW Golf.. sound quality is great if anyone is thinking of getting one lol :-)

It gives me some options, like BROWSE, TOP MENU ETC and TOP is only as far as the Nokia N900/ location

Shame that!

Cheers

i am trying to connect the n900 to my toyota corola's usb, and choose mass storage mode, but there is an error seen in the car's display and i can't access the mp3 files.
i tried to put the files in the root of the SD and also in "MyDocs\My_Media\Sound_and_Music\" and still - same error.
What is the path that your mp3s are stored at?

Thanks.
