Folks, I've been playing with my new N900 for a week now. Like many other users I have been getting ill using the default Media Player. I enjoy it for the simplicity but the lack of features is slowly killing me.

I have loaded a 16GB sd with songs and I have been trying to take some time out of each day to load songs, a CD at a time to playlists within the media player. Sadly, it seems the track listings are being lost in there somewhere. I'm trying to stick with CDs I have ripped myself, so I know they are setup correctly. I'm about to give up. I have been searching the forums for a different application to use, but every one has 'quirks' and I need to test drive each one until i find the one I enjoy.

My main concern is creation / editing of a playlist, and keeping the track order correct from the mp3 tags embedded in each file.

My primary player when using windows was WinAmp, and if need be I'll go through and make m3u files and save them to the N900, but there should be other routes to achieve the same goal.

Thoughts, links, things I missed in searching? TIA

Track listing are lost?

What do you mean exactly! Give us detailed report what you do and how it should behave and how it really behaves.

So you rip your cd to one directory of mp3īs tagged with cddb data and m3u playlist and maybe also cover art for album e.g. cover.jpg.

Symfonie is a good app to get, it plays the songs by folder, also there is a equalizer present. Note that when the equalizer is active, it is a processor & battery hog.
