Hello, I'm new N900 user. I use mpd (music player daemon) on my Linux desktop and I'm happy with it. I just select the directory with genre, and it plays all music files recursivly (i.e. in subdirectories also); or I do simple select the artist and it plays all albums.

Is there any mpd port to maemo? I succeed in founding only mpd-clients. Could any body recommend me something like?

(I looked an media player, easy player... but they are tag based)

you can check garage if you search packages btw as well.
also as i'm xmms2 fan (don't use it on n900 but desctop) i know that ruskie had repo with ported xmms2 to n900. and there was abraca client ports(not finished though) as well - but those i saw as pics from abraca dev only (nano- on freenode)
