I want to restore my N900 to factory settings ie a full factory resit.

I've downloaded the latest maemo flasher for mac, and the image files for the firmware and emmc. Ive also downloaded the 770 flasher.

Ive read and tried and failed to follow the maemo wiki page for this but its not very clear and straight forward. https://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_...r_Nokia_tablet

I've also scoured the net for help without any real success.

I was hoping someone could provide me with a step by step guide to do this (we could also add it to the wiki page for over users to use).

Just to confirm i want to full factory reset the N900 with a mac.

i've downloaded the flasher for mac and installed it. Im assuming that you see no evidence of doing this install and it just allows you to flash via command line?

After reading what info there is on this… i'm a little confused. So the questions i have are

Where do i place the the firmware and emmc files. In the windows section it says to store them under a specific file location however theres no such advice for the mac section.?

And what commands do i run and in which order… do i run the ones noted in the windows section?

Hello. Thanks for your reply. I never said it didn't work i was trying to say that the instructions in the wiki and on the web for factory restoring the n900 on a mac are unclear and very confusing. However the windows based factory reset is very clear in the wiki and on the web but i don't have a windows machine at hand.

Could someone give me a step by step process for the MAC????
