hello everyone

i just wanted to ask that how do we add file path or search path to media player for music and media(like where to setting up a specific folder to search for music or video clips...not the whole device) because i have many podcasts and preenv games and in my media player i have more than 1000 music files because of those sound files of preenv games(for eg lets golf) and podcasts... i dont want to see them in my media player play list but want them to remain in the device.
any help would be appreciated...
thanx in advance

You want to add a searchpath or avoid a specific path for media searches? You would have got a faster answer if you have a better title
Anyways
use a file editor
either vi, vim, nano or leafpad

then fire these commands...
I'll be using leafpad for example.
open xterm
leafpad /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg
Search for the line where it says "NoWatchDirectory="
Add the specified path you don't want to be tracked/indexed at the end of the line after the semi colon...
Ex. /home/user/Preenv;/home/user/MyDocs/Games;/media/mmc1/Preenv;
Save then exit
Type "exit" to logout as root
type tracker-processes -r (as user)
then done! It should rescan your device and ignore the specified paths you stated in NoWatchDirectory

thanx but aint there a way to add a path for the media player to search rather than to avoid... it would be quite lengthy adding all the paths where i dont have the media player to search for eg podcasts
