I used to use a bulk sms software programme that personailsed the sms by dropping their name into the conversation, it was coded as such: Hi *#*, just need...blah blah. their name would be inserted on the hash.

To all the developers out there is it possible to create an app that will fetch the first names from the contacts database when sending to multiple recipients for N900?

sure, shouldn't be hard either, i'd guess one could code a proof of concept in python in an evening...
