Is it just me and my tv, or it's the way power kernel was compiled without tv-out support.

Thanks a lot for quick reply, I got a 46" Polaroid TV, it's kinda picky with certain input resolution. Glad to hear it's not the phone problem. Oh by the way, which version is power kernel?, mine is v46.

It may seem silly, but I believe the AV cable must be plugged in to the TV first to work.

On mine, even though I have it through scart, I still have to change the tv to "AV".

run
dbus-monitor --system | grep tvout
plug the cable with tv ( device ) connected
if a good av input is connected it will show string "tvout " else string "tvoutandbthsp"

possible faults:
- wrong cable
- wrong cable pinout . try with original cable. cable on the market sometimes have ground and av output swapped ( f... iphone legacy )
- wrong av input socket impedance .must be 75 ohm

correct detection and work of n900 can be checked by putting an resistor of 75 ohm across yellow output of n900 cable

0 ohm mean headphones
75 ohm mean av out
more than that mean mike

Thanks blue I can now get my N900 working with my MYVU glasses.

I've connected a 75 ohm resistor to the video cable, plug this in to enable tvout and then plug in my normal cable for my video glasses and I get the image and sound etc
