My media player (the bog standard one) has all of a sudden started playing up. When I try and open it fully (ie not just use the widget) it crashes with internal error. Also it now has added all sound files from my device ie sounds from webos games etc

any one else had this problem how do I go about fixing?

Don't know about the media player crashing (but does the problem persist after a reboot?)

As to problem #2, you need tracker-cfg: http://maemo.org/packages/view/tracker-cfg/

Your N900 has a habit of finding all of your media files and adding them to the tracker database so they are shown in media player. You need to restrict the directories it watches.

For info on how tracker-cfg works, try a google like this:

Not sure about the crashing problem.
