Install multiboot, and multiboot-kernel-{power or maemo}
Then, use "tar -xvjf gingerbread.tar.bz2 -C /home/user/" to install it to your eMMC. Then, "mount -o bind /home/user /and" and "dpkg -i nitdroid-kernel-mido-fayad.deb", check /etc/multiboot.d/ for the .item entries (there should be one for each kernel you have), and check /boot/ for the multiboot kernels. Reboot with the slide open.

And, uh, if you did install it to the eMMC, edit /etc/multiboot.d/11-something so that it would boot from ${INT_CARD}p2.

I guess because you did not install the file in MyDocs. It is not the .documents folder - that was the mistake I made a number of times.
What I did was connect my N900 via USB and just dropped the file into the main N900 drive. Not inside any folders. Should work fine.

I think you have not copied the gingerbread file in "MYDocs" directory.
