I searched the forum, I searched the Wiki, I searched the Net, so finally I open a thread... I have a small problem with my N900 which drives me nuts.
Reflashed my N900 some weeks ago. Installed the apps I had before, including power kernel. Works like a charm again, but there is a small annoyance since:
After some few hours after rebooting, the on-screen keyboard shows a strange behaviour: It works, I can enter characters, but the visual feedback is missing. Usually, when I press a key in the screen keyboard, the key gets blue while pressed. This feedback is missing now. Rebooting makes it work again, but after some time of operation, the feedback ceases again. Rebooted several times, always the same behaviour. dmesg: nothing. I started every app to check if this problem is triggered by a particular application, no result.
Has anybody observed the same? Any solutions? It's only a minor annoyance, it does not make the device unusable, but it is still an annoyance.
-------------
Edit: I think I found the culprit. I'm quite sure it is hardware acceleration. After reflashing, I tested HW acceleration (/etc/powervr.d/hildon-desktop.ini -> WESEGL_UseHWSync)
I have deactivated HW acceleration now, and after rebooting, the problem does not occur anymore.
There seems to be a reason why HW acceleration is deactivated by default; other threads here also report strange behaviour or instabilities.
