Hi there.

In xterm when i run this command 'sudo airmon-ng' it asks me for a password but i odnt know what it is, does anyone else?

i'm trying to follow this guide.

Those seem to be instructions for desktop linux that has sudo configured. Install rootsh package and type sudo gainroot to gain root privileges.

edit: you do know it's a crime (at least in some countries) to break into people's wifi right?

Nope. The correct response is "I'm just testing the security of my own network"

I would also have accepted: "My parents/boy/girlfriend/mailman's second cousin/pet iguana/whatever forgot the password to their wireless network and asked me to help out."
