Thanks, that's kinda of the message I really wanted to convey. It is utterly soulless, the UI is designed for dummies, and even if you jailbreak your device and add multifl0w or cardswitcher it's not REAL multitasking. However, it is a great phone for a few reasons, my biggest worry upon purchasing it was the QWERTY keyboard but my thought going into that was, "Well... I can buy the case that has a keyboard in it, but I want to see if I can adapt." - I adapted so well and so fast, and Siri helped me along.

oh, and you need a keyboard too http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/cellphone/ea6d/

Any combination of the above will give you an iphone that will impress even the most ardent of nokia fanboy

If you dig far enough through the cydia devel pages you will find some great projects to get your teeth into. I have a few workmates who are heavy in to the Jailbreak scene and you know what? We have greater discussions about the mobile phone scene together than we do with any of the android users in our team.

Edit: check this theme out bit more n9-ish
That's where you're wrong: Swipe UI, or "Zepher" is almost useless due to the form factor of the device, imagine scrolling thought something and accidentally changing applications. It is very annoying. The application you saw do "multitasking" is called cardswitcher - it does show the open applications in windows, this is true, however it is just running above the springboard. If you "respring" it will show you have no applications open when you have everything in the world open. Not true multitaking.

As for the keyboard, I think that is something the Apple got right, it's the best on screen keyboard I've ever used. Combined with their autocorrect, spell check and Siri - data input is as good if not better than the N900.

Adding a theme to iOS to me is a pretty silly idea... it's like buying a suit for a dead guy. I don't feel the need to dress it up and make it feel alive (while slowing it down and getting possible glitches).
