For example I grabbed kismet Alpha build from here:
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/net/kismet
but got "Unable to install. Package is incompatible with current software".
I also got that same error with:
MAMaOS 0.1.2
VNC Viewer
Minimo gives me "Unable to install./ Some packages required for the installation are missing"
UKMP-1.5-uktube.deb from maemo just gave me: "Open with: No application to open with". Whenever this happens for a program it leaves me baffled since I thought .deb was the install file extension for Linux. I have been told that Ipera isn't associated with deb files by default however some deb files do open so something looks odd there...
I do have Python installed but even that took a few tries.
Needless to say while trying to figure these things out over the last few days I haven't even gotten to stuff like getting streaming windows content to play lol
Oddly enough some apps like mplayer and Maemo Blocks install fine so I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my unit (and should do an RMA) or if I'm just not doing this right (and if so if there's any sort of 770 Linux "For Dummies" so I can start studying and figure this out)?
Thanks for any info.
