I bought my n800 off ebay for approx 120 euro back in July 2008 and have been using it daily since then. However, lately it's been showing signs that it may not be around for long more and I'm wondering what can I replace it with.

My requirements:

• Similar size screen (although I could go a little smaller if necessary)
• Internet browser
• Email client
• CLI with support for rsync and scp
• Map application similar to the sadly defunct maemo mapper with either inbuilt GPS or support for external GPS via bluetooth
• Price ~ 150 euro or less

Any suggestions on what might fit the bill?

Galaxy note ll. But it doesn't fit the requirements fully. But still a great choice or Note lll if you want a cheaper model.

2nd hand N900 maybe? They cost about 100 -150 €, it has great map applications like modrana, marble and even sygic.
I think there's no other device that fits your needs,
maybe some el-cheapo android tablet :P

Do they? I thought they were in the €200 - 250 range? I'd certainly consider one if they'd dropped to 100-150.
The only things I'd be concerned about is usb port flakiness and whether repositories are going to disappear or not.

I bought a used N900 for 200 USD last year, and more recently I got a new N9 16GB for 250 USD. There are also lots of N9's on amazon.com at varying prices.

It seems to me that there are lots of cheap older Android phones (e.g. Galaxy S?) that can also do what you're asking.
