Install Preware and there are few tools that allow to remove all installed patches. It's quite useful, time to time, if you ask me. I can find the exact names, if you want me to, but I'd need to find my HP Veer first.
You should find all your answers at the webosnation forums, but I must warn you: webOS community is nowhere near as good as Maemo community.

seriously man, I've been busting my balls since yesterday.
same thing goes for 2g/3g selection (no added apps/applets. i know there are applets for making this easy)
it was a well hidden option inside the dialer! Not even in settings.
Anyways, thanks for all the replies! It's my first "alternatives" topic here on TMO.
Great device the Pre 3 is. WebOS reminds a lot of Harmattan (or vice versa tbh)
great OS but somewhat tricky.. even for the simplest things.
