Hi all

I have a question about the Jolla calendar and google calendar.
If someone shares his calendar with me, it should be possible that i see the shared calendar on my jolla where my google account is configured (so said from the jolla support).
But in my case, i can only see my own google calendar.
do i have to "force" syncing between the jolla and the google account? or is there anything else i can do?

is anybody out there who has expirience with shared google calendars and who can tell me what i have to do or if its just impossible (at the moment) to get the shared calendar on the jolla?

thanks in advance

I have also been trying to set up my google calendar. Default google calendar works just fine, events are synchronized to both directions. Shared calendars are not visible at all in phone. I removed google and caldav (owncloud) accounts couple of times and removed manually related .db files. After recreating accounts, I still see only default calendars. Android tablet sees shared calendars, so I think calendar setup on server side should be ok.

Another issue is that after adding calendar sync to google account, Jolla calendar app lost previously working caldav calendar. I had to remove and recreate my caldav account to fix it.

I'm seeing shared Google calendars on my Jolla, and I haven't done any special configuration. I just created a Google account, and shared calendars were instantly visible in Calendar > Manage calendars.

No idea why it's working for me but not for you.

Update: There's discussion on this in together.jolla.com...

With https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect, you should be able to select which calendars are synced via CalDAV. But according to the discussions linked, that isn't necessarily the solution to this problem.

update: It seems that I can see shared calendars as long as I have created them by myself. After creating a new google calendar Jolla's calendar app shows new calendar in "Manage calendars" view.

It still does not show shared calendar created by my friend. I tested how it works with Ubuntu+thunderbird and android+S planner combinations and in both cases I can see all calendars I expect to see. I also verified calendar configuration in https://google.com/calendar/syncselect.

ssahla, thanks for the links. Unfortunately those did not solve the problem.

i asked jolla about the problem. latest statusupdate:

I am trying to get the status from our R&D but many of the folks are on holiday. This fix seems to require more fundamental changes than expected. R&D wrote in the bug report: "Currently, the calendars for a Google account are synced through the Google APIs. We should look to syncing Google calendars through a CalDAV plugin instead, as the Google APIs are limited in respect to calendar syncing".

Unfortunately there is no ETA yet. I am doing my best to get that at least.

let's see if they can fix it with the next update in september
