I see your point Karel, but at the moment it's the only realistic opportunity of expanding the device's memory capacity beyond 2GB without taking it apart - which I can't help feeling would land me in even bigger "doodoo" if I messed up

Sorry about the double post but I've just received a response from sales support at Transcend, it reads:
Sounds promising but I guess we'll just have to wait and see, maybe I won't have to take my 770 apart afterall
