I have a new N800 and am having trouble with email. Specifically, I have tried using IMAP with a) Claws and b) the build in client.

Here are the problems with Claws:

1. It will not find my email. I have entered all information for IMAP - it looks one for the mailbox, fails and never SEEMS to try again, even when I tell it to get the mail. I never see the box that it is accessing the IMAP server, nor does it every ask for a password, which might be why it fails.

2. I created some extra mail boxes - and cannot get rid of them. Where is the delete?

Here are the problems with the build in client:

1. It tried to access my email and got though half of them -- but then choked. (I have 7500 emails on my IMAP server: Is that the problem, are these clients just hopeless at this point?)

2. The client no longer opens. It says "opening mail" and then just disappears. I seem to be unable to uninstall and reinstall this program - it is part of the original install.

Any suggestions? I would very much like to use Claws. Nice interface.

As regards Claws Mail...

1. It works. Check your settings. See '/Tools/Network Log' for information on your connection.

2. Hold the stylus on the folder for a moment so that you get the context menu, then select 'Delete folder'.

For the built-in email client: When the above happens, and still continue to happen after waiting a bit, that's a symptom it's hanging on a socket. To fix: One of a) open an xterm, then enter 'killall enprocess' (without quotes), or b) if you have an applet like 'load-applet-run' installed then you can just enter that killall command in its Run window (no need to open xterm).

After this the built-in email client should start again.
