Hi everyone,

I just got my first internet tablet (n810), and have a quick question about the bluetooth internet access. I'm on Sprint, and if I buy a new phone with bluetooth and get the web plan, does that mean I can pull the tablet out anywhere, connect via bluetooth to my phone, and access the web? Also, I was looking at the Katana DLX by Sanyo. Does anyone have any experience with this one? Will this do what I'm asking?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, assuming you have signal and a phone that can handle the tethering, you can get internet access for the tablet just about anywhere.

You do need to ensure that your new phone can handle the desired data service, and that the phone's bluetooth supports DUN (used by the tablet for the connection).

The Sanyo Katana DLX appears to support everything you need, according to phonescoop: Sprint, Bluetooth DUN, EV-DO for high speed access

Good luck!

The Sprint stores often have their floor models working with internet enabled. Bring your 810 in and see if you can pair it and get access. More for usability than anything. I know the 810 is significantly slower using my 8800 than os x or win xp (on a mac mini).

not to be a party pooper, but the sprint web plan (vision) specifically doesn't cover tethering. They have special data plans for that that are really costly. I've been doing a lot of research at it seems the only sprint phone that you can tether to without getting nailed that has bluetooth dun is the ppc 6700. Otherwise, look out for a large phone bill. Do some research on "sprint tethering" before deciding.
