Hi all,

I have just been jumping through hoops with Nokia UK (outsourced to Ireland I believe) support for my Nokia 770 (with white screen of death). I went through 2 useless people who simply didn't want to help unless I had a Club Nokia number. The problem with that is that you need to sign up _with a serial number of your Nokia phone_ which I don't have. So, I googled for a Nokia IMEI (people are frequently posting their IMEI's in order to have them unlocked -- I picked the oldest one I could find to minimise the change they wouldn't be able to register) and got myself a Club Nokia account number. Then magically I was able to get the problem logged with Nokia. Mind you, it's just the first step of the process as apparently another party is supposed to be calling me in the next day or two to arrange collection of the unit. I'm not in the practise of holding my breath for stuff like this, but at least it is some small progress. If Nokia want this thing to succeed they better get their act together with repect to supporting non-phone products as the more I look, the more I see others having problems with their screens! eg. look at nokia support forums. Just like the crack which 'suddenly' appears on a growing number of units, who knows how common the screen issue could end up becoming!
