I'm not new to programming..

but there seems to be so many choices for programming for the N810.

1. I need to share data between the N810 and a pc, running linux of course. I'm thinking about running a rsync script as needed
2. I need to have a common contacts, calender, and todo programs in addition to the application I need to write, but I need to access these data.

the question?
which language? c, c++, perl, python or ??

I would like to find/use already built tools. for example tools to read the GTK contacts/calender in python?

thanks

Contacts in Diablo are stored in Evolution-Data-Server which is written in C.

For the rest, what is your question? Do you want to write everything yourself? Or do you ask for good applications (like GPE Calendar) and their APIs for your code?

thanks for the reply,
I more looking for api it access the data stored in GPE calender/contacts.
I need piece of software to track jobs( people, places, hours worked and other stuff). this data would be stored outside GPE apps. this is software I'm thinking about writing. So would c/c++ be the better choice instead of say Python?

I also need to sync between GPE apps on the N810 and comparable apps on the pc. I think opensync will handle this part
