I am considering heavily on buying a 770 this weekend but curious about addons and apps... I have been to maemo but its a bit overwhelming... I read about users hacking the root... again a bit much..

So a couple of questions if anyone would be so kind to help out.
Is gps available for the us...
what are some popular apps that i might need or are must haves...
Should I wait til spring to get the 870.
Any success with bluetooth portable keyboards.

What are some must have accessories.. carrying case..etc...

thx in advance and if this subject has been answered previously I apologive I did do a search...

Hi Chaz,
I'll try and answer. GPS from Nokia is out for Europe, coming for US. Maemomapper is out and working from Maemo. Check it's home page linked from the application catalog , I think it requires other hardware. Here's a recent thread about applications. Should you wait for the 870? Only you can know that. Go here and click on the 'search' tab just to the right of the middle of the window then put in 870. Lots of discusion. As for bluetooth, yes. Search for bluetooth, same as above. Nokia does sell one. I have a case from PDair slightly modified with a weak magnet, very happy with it. Again, search for cases same as above.
Good Luck,

Peter

I'd wait a while longer to get the new tablet when it comes out if I were you. The 770 is a great device, but I plan on upgrading soon. If I were just thinking about purchasing a new handheld, and didn't already have the 770, I'd definately wait for the new one. But that's just me.

I prefer the 770. Maybe I'm some kind of romantic (snip).

And I use maps.google.com with my 770, instead of GPS. It depends on your needs, of course.
