something so basic i don't even see the answer anywhere
i'm on a 770 now that i just updated to the latest firmware and now the application catalogue isn't connecting. it says Unable to refresh list, Last refrshed list is shown.

i managed to add fbreader correctly, but the main maemo repository just wont take.i'm trying http://repository.maemo.org/ mistral user.
what am i doing wrong? i searched this forum, the maemo site and google. i have the feeling this is so easy it was never even added to a faq

how do i add repositories? please explain like you.would to 4yr old

If you go to maemo.org and click on " fbreader " you will clearly see that the repository required/mentioned is " http://only.mawhrin.net/fbreader/maemo/ ", now for this, if you add " http://repository.maemo.org/ mistral user," how exactly are you going to get to the former repository ? Am I, in my infinite stupidity understanding you wrong or is it simply me ? So, to use the fbreader you need to access the former repository and after that I am sure it should work.

hi, i displayed the fbreader repository just to show that the device is deffinately working correctly, then when i try to add the main repository and refresh the list it gives me that error.

so fbreader is fine, its just the format i am typing in is incorrect for anything else it seems.

I am going to application manager and adding to catalog:
and unlike the fbreader that worked fine when i did this, the one in quotes isnt.

what am i typing wrong?

Look for the correct repositoy list.
In your example it should be
There is no USER componet in selected repository.
