Afaik you can have a lot of files on your N900 and it would still be pretty fast... It's just that when you start installing alot of apps and do different things like enabling the devel repo... etc. that's when you start feeling the difference... But you can still can a do couple of things to have it go faster.. Like using swappolube and many other solutions that's available to us.

Not sure what you exactly mean by the 2nd question.. So can't help u there..

1. MyDocs is the FAT-formatted 27Gb partition. You can put anything you like there as long as there's space free. It will not slow down or hang anything.

2. Please define "raw file system".

Most of the time these irritations to less robust file systems occur after crashes of the phone or a bad unmount (removal) from the PC.
You might want to post what PC OS is running to get some comprehensive answers.
If in doubt do a file system check
Code:
sudo gainroot
umount /dev/mmcblk0p1
fsck -af /dev/mmcblk0p1
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /home/user/MyDocs
Use /dev/mmcblk1p1 for an external card, which shows the same symptoms.

@viento23,

I don't use WIndows so I don't really get what you mean by "always showing RAW". Could you post a screenshot of that?

It's bad, very bad!

How can one trust an OS that shows a device as raw, meaning not showing any file system at all, and still complete copy, remove or paste actions on the given device???

You really should take actions here, not on your N900.

Sorry for this off-topic rant.

On-topic: Use the above commands in X-Terminal application to see, if that makes any changes on the way your PC approaches the internal card of the N900.
