I'm trying to update OTA. I'm asked to do a Backup. I do, but then nothing happens. The Backup program doesn't close.

If I finally close Backup, does not continue. If I hit the Maemo 5 update in the open Application Manager, it starts over from scratch (to the Backup step)

What's wrong? How do I proceed?.

I used that Win based Nokia Software Update tool and it beautifully updated device firmware to PR 1.2. Just let it find your N900 and then it automatically downloads and updates the firmware.

Try backing up first. Then upgrade

Ignore the backup prompt during the upgrade

I'm away from home for the next few weeks, so I was hoping OTA would work.

I don't have a choice, the Update opens the Backup software. I've backed up ~4 times, I've tried killing Backup with and without backing up. No Joy. The process seems like it never starts the update, only the Backup?

I have noticed that Backup hangs occasionally but, if let be, it seems to recover. Can take a little while though. Try leaving it running for ten minutes.

"Got 'er done"
I commandeered a friends laptop and used NSU. I doubt she'll notice the program. Maybe I should uninstall it before she finds out :-)

Now let's get back on track with new and/or improved apps!!!
