Hallo everyone,
yesterday I have installed "PKCS12 with certificate chain" file with certificate for certification authority and user certificate of course.
All went neath and I have selected to use them both for e-mail.

Next I have set up modest to connect to my imap and smtp server with TLS on the ports I defined.
I cannot connect to imap and the error N900 gives is "Cannot connect to host.domain.net mybe servername or port number my be incorrect" (something like that).

On the server (cyrus) log I can see the following error:
: imaps TLS negotiation failed: [10.5.1.158]
: Fatal error: tls_start_servertls() failed

When try to send mail through smtp it works, BUT:
TLS connection is anonymous, modest does send root certificate but does NOT send a user certificate.

Can Anyone check this out???

DOes modest support starttls ?

I don't think modest supports client certificate authentication.

Yes, but it uses an SSLv2-compatible handshake which some servers may be configured to reject, see bug 8386.

Hi, it's been some time and PR1.2 has came. I was hoping that new
firmware will be better regarding email but nothing.

Anyhow, I followed the bug and installed the nosslv2 package with PR1.1 and PR1.2 versions but I am still experiencing the same thing. Which is kind of frustrating and dissapointing for this phone.

And there is no port for Mutt yet...

well... Say goodbye to email on nokia n900. At least for a while...

Could you use stunnel to establish the ssl tunnel with client cert, and then have modest go over that?
