when i click the icon of vlc player, it runs, vlc player window pop up, but it shut down automically in few seconds..why?

Run it in terminal and give us the output.

it said VLC cant run as root, you need to use real time priorities...It also said i can use vlc-wrapper, but i cant too (cannot determine unprivileged user for VLC)

It is not relative to the icon problem i think

vlc works

install power kernel
install easy debian

run debian shell

:> sudo aptitude install vlc
run vlc with

:>vlc

there is no sound in the vlc -.- you need debian driver etc.
