I have noticed two problems with Google Voice.

1. When logged into Google Voice (www.google.com/voice) with the N800's browser most function work, such as show call history, but my contacts list does not display.

2. When logged into mobile Google Voice (www.google.com/voice/m) all seems good except I can't make a call from my Gizmo5 number.

Has anyone else noticed either of these problems?

I think the second problem is a bug on Google's end, not sure about the first. Does Google Voice have a site where I can report a bug?

Try zooming in with your browser.

Are you suggesting that as a solution to problem 1 or 2?

1.

For calling out, install Dialcentral 1.1.13-0.

I use Dialcentral but it's lacking some basic functions. The contacts list doesn't display, and it doesn't play voicemail.

Well, I only use the Tear Web browser for the added features that come with Google Voice.

Maybe you can install that and give it a try.

I tried to install tear_0.3.6-0_armel.deb but got the following message.

"Unable to install Tear. Some application packages required for the installation are missing."

Details shows that two packages are missing:
libpcre3 (>=4.5)
libwebkit-1.0-1 (>=1.0)

Are dependency packages not automatically added?

Hopefully Qole's repository is still up.

You can also use qole's repository to automate the install of Tear and libwebkit:
Catalogue Name: Qole
Web address: http://qole.org/repository
Distribution: maemo
Components: main

"When logged into mobile Google Voice (www.google.com/voice/m) all seems good except I can't make a call from my Gizmo5 number."

I've used this address to make calls without any problem in MicroB and Gizmo. On the GV mobile page, go to Settings -> Phones and make sure that your Gizmo number is present and checked. Then make sure you're running Gizmo on your n800 and are logged in with your Gizmo5 user ID.

If you've done all that already, where does your call attempt fail? Can you make a call using Gizmo on your computer without any trouble?

I can make calls from the Google Voice web site using the N800's factory installed browser (don't know it's name) and the Gizmo client running on the N800. If I try to use the mobile version of the Google Voice web site then I can't use my Gizmo number for my end of the call, but calls work if using cell phone or land line to handle my end of the call.

For the calls that fail it never rings my Gizmo number, maybe it's trying to dial my 1747xxxxxxx on the PSTN. If that's what's happening I'd never hear the phone ring because that would be someone's PSTN line, not my number.
