I was close to getting the PDair vertical case, you can get it on ebay, but I think someone mentioned that the inner material could be a little rough, and without my screen protector on, I wasn't sure if that's what I wanted.

Am i right in thinking that we shouldn't use cases with magnets to close?

Yeah, magnets can be a problem; the N900 uses magnetic fields to determine whether the keyboard has been slid out, and can get confused by external magnets. The Maemo wiki here has an entry describing this:
FAQ entry #1
(And yeah, that is one reason I went with the PDair vertical sleeve, it has no flaps or fasteners to worry about.)
I've been looking on ebay for a cheap screen protector and case and have found these I don't know if they be any good at all.

Sorry for the noob questions however I want one thats cheap and can also hold against scratches etc.
