Does anyone know the effect on navicore when doing an update? Do I need to release the license first, then update and reload navicore and get the license? Or can I just do the update and reload?

My experience after flashing the update is that the Navicore software has to be installed again [navicore_n800_armel.deb}.

The licence key does not seem to be disturbed by the process and was automatically available for activation i.e. just OK the dialogue box when requested, the cd key is already in the text box ready for confirmation.

Though bearing in mind the inconsistencies we are observing with this update it may be different for others.

My experience was the same as his^.

I was surprised when the end of install pop up had had the license key already populated in the field. I hit "OK" and was on my way.

This part is speculation but it appears that it is kept on the card and checks it against the Device ID that generated it.

It sounds like I can move all the files to a larger card in the future and reinstall without having to worry where the original code is. In fact, this just prompted me to save a back-up of these files on my desktop's hard drive.

My update killed Navicore -- I've re-installed twice, and I can't get it to run. I get the splash screen, and then it dies. Execution from the command line gets me this error:

WARNING: osso_application_set_exit_cb() is obsolete and a no-op
Libosso WARNING: yet another handler required for:
service: com.nokia.navicore
obj. path: /com/nokia/navicore
interface: com.nokia.navicore

Anybody got any insight into this one?

After flashing my tablet I had to re-install Navicore again. I had to type in the CD key again but when I had done this Navicore was activated without any problems. My Favourites entries were preserved on the SD card. Summary: I had no problems re-installing Navicore and I did not lose any data.
