Hi,

I've owned a 770 once before, just ordered my n800 yesterday, I personally don't bother for the extra features on the n810, and looking at the current price of the n800 thats a fine choice for me

When i receive my n800 tommorow, I would like to upgrade to 2008 right away.

I'm on a iMac intel, 10.5.1 installed, i have the flasher for OSX

Can anybody describe for OSX a how to upgrade firmware to OS2008 ?
Help would be greatly appreciated!

I've looked at the forum, but don't seem to find any guide line about how to.

Greetings Justin

Have a look at this thread:

I believe the MacOSX method would be virtually identical, just substitute the name of the flasher app for the one you have. If you have any questions or problems, try posting them in that thread.

And congrats on your new purchase!

Just to make sure you know this is "NOT the OFFICIAL RELEASE" of the 2008 OS for the N800 and there are still some issue reguarding getting things to work the way you expect. You may want to look at this post .

Hmm seems like it is better to wait until the official release is out there

The main reason I wanted to do it because of the extra media codecs supported, but I'll wait a litte longer until more apps are supported.

I chose to wait. I haven't even updated to the latest version of OS2007 thinking that since we're so close I'd just get accustomed to using it. I'll go straight to OS2008 when the folks here give it the thumbs up. The N800 does what I want now, plus I need for Skype to work. But, I am looking forward to the forthcoming extended capabilities. I'm encouraged by your posts. It won't be long, ya know.

Skype is also one of my apps that has to work, does anybody know for sure that Skype does or doesn't support video calls on the N800 with the official update in december ?
