I have Freedom Mini Duo bluetooth keyboard, and set it into HID mode. When I click on the bluetooth icon on my Nokia 770 running the latest OS 2006 release and bluetooth driver, it first prompts me to pair up the keyboard, and generates a 4-digit code. When I type the code on the Mini Duo keyboard, I successfully pair up, and receive a confirmation as such. However, when I next attempt to connect to the keyboard, the connection always fails. I get a confirmation as such, and the blue light continues on one flash, instead of two.

Any ideas on how to connect?

I have a similar issue.

I've tried a lot of various options.

Using hcitools I can get a good connection but not a usable keyboard.

Using the hidd I never find the keyboard using the search function nor am I able to get a hidd connection.

Seems to me that they are doing something different than HID but not sure what.

I haven't tried using it in SPP mode but that may be an option using kbdd.

The profile shows it is a keyboard I'm thinking there is either a channel that needs to be defined or something....I was able to join the keyboard with my XP laptop but you seem to have to use their driver. Will try the connection again.

Anyone else have ideas on connecting this keyboard - it would be a great little keyboard to have running on the N800 - totally portable package and I like the built-in rechargable battery.

Anyone else get this working?

I managed to get the keyboard working with kbdd. Look for it and install - get your BDADDR and keyboard type freedom and it works. It needs to be on the mobile phone rather than computer - doesn't work in HID mode for some reason but do have it working in serial mode with kbdd.

Very cool!

Can you give more details on how you did this? What's kbdd? Into what do I type "freedom"? I'm trying to use this with my N800.

I was also able to get it working in serial mode, but I also have a question.

I followed the instructions I searched for and everything worked out fine except the last step. I want to install the desktop shortcut, but that script won't work - I get a "Permission Denied" message. This is running from xterm and executing sudo gainroot.

Now that I think about it I have another question... if I screw up (again) and don't rerun the btkbd script to disconnect the keyboard properly, how do I get the on screen keyboard back without the dreaded "Restore original settings"? There must be a better way.
