HI being new to this and gettin a new n800 which i am pleased with....there are a few shareware stuff i love to get for it..or anyone know where i can get something that can run on n800

A version of dosbox or similar that works
A version of Frotz (IMPORTANT WOULD LOVE THIS)
Anything that can help with JAVA on internet as far as i read n800
doesnt support this..
Also a program simlar to BITLORD thats runs on it

Please remember i am a newbi so maybe step by step way of doing it if it more than just installing...

Oh and if possible i know or believe the n800 is based on a linux OS...can i use the same programs for the n800 or does it need to be in the n800 format....Deb i think....thanks for any help...

Dosbox is a great program that runs old dos games..
Frotz is a great program to run old infocom text adventures
Bitlord is a file sharing program
Anyone who wants ScummVM i have that just email for link for download...

Oh nearly forgot.....can a bluetooth keyboard or mouse be used via using the bluetooth on n800...and if so would i need any software for this....or can i just pair and it will work??

Look for software on maemo.org under the downloads category and you should find lots of stuff. The installers it uses (debs) have to be designed to the N800, you can't you a desktop deb on the N800 as the software is designed for a different processor.

In terms of ICQ and MSN try searching for Pidgin on the downloads section of maemo.org, its an IM client which supports several protocols.

You can pair a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. You shouldn't need to install third party software for either, however because the N800 doesn't show a cursor the mouse would be useless. Keyboards are however very helpful.

Frotz is definately available for the N800. I've got it installed on mine.

As for the bitlord search for torrent here. Its a bittorrent client, isn't it?
If yes, then there is at least a couple for maemo, but haven't use any of them.

BTW, If I needed one, I would run it in my desktop and use its web interface to manage the downloads from the N800. Both Azureous and utorrent afaik give this option.
