Do I correctly recall seeing that youtube will be viewable with the version of microb that comes with 2008 OS?

Yes, my experience with OS2008 on my N800 so far is that YouTube is viewable but it is still dropping frames if you play while it downloads. But there is supposed to be a performance upgrade coming in the December release of OS2008.

At the same time, I don't want to exaggerate the frame drops. For the most part the video plays smoothly once you get a bit of it buffered, with just an occasional stutter. It is much better than under OS2007.

Have you played with it? Perhaps there's a bit of stuttering at the beginning, but other than that, I don't see much quality difference in the tablet and my desktop. Not like YouTube is a beacon of quality videos or anything.

Definitely more than good enough for a small portable device.
