I'm sorry for the cross-post (also on N810 forum), but I just realized that it's more likely to get a response here.

So: has anyone had any success w/a usb-to-vga adpater to replicate the n800 w/an overhead projector? There's not much in the previous forum posts, but I've seen references to linux drivers so it should be possible (I think).

Thanks for any feedback,

scott

While in theory this is the possible the main problem is actually the fact the N800 lacks usb host support and therefore it is currently not possible to even get such a device recognised.

Thanks. I thought I'd read that it was possible to modify the N800 to act as a host, but I might have confused the 800 & 810. I actually would prefer the 810 (smaller & keyboard), and if I can give talks through it it would be almost perfect!

It is possible to put the n800 in host mode, but it's not easy.
Look at this thread:

Edit: read also the follow up messages, not just the one I linked.

Maybe with OS2800 things are easier (or maybe not).

Yes, it is possible and been tried successfully. E.g. Targus USB docking station works [almost] fine. For static images surely fine (that is not for video). Sources should be released but I am not sure about timing - may be early January. I guess information will be on maemo garage.

if you install the x11 vncserver, you can run vncviewer (Linux) or TightVNC/UltraVNC from a PC to serve up the screens on overhead, etc.

thanks
