My first post and need some help regarding streaming music. I've searched extensively but can't seem to find a fix for my problem.
I recently purchased the N800 with the latest OS2007.
My problem is that when I stream music, it will only play for about 30 seconds before it starts buffering and then just quits. This happens on everything - radio stations I've set from shoutcast; Rhapsody, which I installed; and even last.fm using the Vagalume client I installed.
At first, I was afraid I just had a lemon. But I went down to the local McDonald's and Krystals and tied into their wifis. Wow, no problems and just listened to music and surfed to my heart's content.
But on my home wifi, the music just won't stream for long - again, about 30 seconds.
I have a linksys WRT54GX2 with the latest firmware. My desktop is wired into it and I have no problem streaming music all day. My laptop, which is wireless, also can play streaming music all day without hardly any problems/buffering.
It just seems to be with my N800 and my home wifi.
Surfing the web is okay, but again, better elsewhere.
One little quirk I've noticed is that the streaming music will play longer - sometimes up to 5 minutes - if I'm also browsing the web at the same time (on the N800). But just trying to play music, everything starts trying to buffer after about 30 seconds
Any ideas would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Your problem may be related to the Wi-Fi powersave timeout setting. See the comments in this bug report for a possible fix.

thanks so much for the response.
Looked through the link and understand what they are saying, but have no idea how to do it

Basically it's saying run the command in xterm. Total newbie, not familiar with xterm or what/where it is.

Also, they keep mentioning version 4.2007.26-8. I've got version 4.2007.38-2

Anyway, thanks again

I think part of my problem is that my N800 doesn't seem to "like" my router. I have a laptop with a built-in 11.b card and another one with a 11.g card. They have no problems streaming audio/video and surf extremely fast.
However, the N800 almost seems like it is on dial up, some pages just take forever to load and/or even find.

Any other thoughts?

thanks

Update:
So, I went and got a Linksys WRT54G to replace the "better" WRT54GX2 ver. 2 because I couldn't come up with any other ideas.

And of course, everything suddenly works perfectly - streaming music all day, web pages are blazing fast.

Go figure.
