i suppose it's been posted here before, but i just finished a test hooking up a usb 120gb Maxtor One-Touch to my n800 w/os2008...
i had previously partitioned and formatted the drive w/HFS+ and ext2 for use on my iBook and AMD Ubuntu notebooks...
powered up the drive using a small Kensington USB hub... rummaged through the junk box and found a Rat Shack variable voltage wall wart w/appropriate center (+) tip, set it to 4.5V, and plugged into the hub... the LED lit, so i then set the n800 to host mode, and plugged in the cabling...
after the usual "not supported" message on the hildon desktop, the file manager launched and the ext2 partition on the drive appeared!
w00t! i played some songs, copied some files and all was well!
just thought folks might want to know...
i guess this will work just as well for thumb drives?

anyone want to come up with an HFS+ fs module?
(last i recall, HFS+ was 'experimental readonly')
:-)
