I saw the slow first time fix and it should be fixed with my n810 but switching on and waiting for 30 min still doesn't give me a fix. So i tried vertical, i tried south , I searched for a bug fix only to see that my software already has the osso-gpsd fix. So i wandering if my gps is dead. Is there a way to check this ?

I would install something like maemo mapper. The gps pannel in there shows a lot of nice info on what is happening. You will be able to see if any satellites are being found. The GPS may be seeing things but not getting enough signal to get a lock.

Click View/GPS Display in Nokia Map. You should see grey bars for each satellite. I think the number underneath is the
satellite PRN and the height represents the signal strength. If you get a fix the display changes to show satellite
position, your location, time etc.
In xterm do "ps ax|grep gps". You should see gpsdriver, navicore-gpsd-helper
and gpsd running.
Install "netcat"
Type "nc localhost 2947" and type "r". This talks to gpsd.
You should see raw NMEA from the GPS driver e.g.
$GPGSV,1,1,03,08,,,28,28,,,26,07,,,25*76
I believe this indicates that the GPS is running.
Other things to try: make sure your clock is right and set to the right timezone, so
that "date -u" shows the correct GMT time.
Try deleting /var/lib/gps/nvd_data and restarting the map application.
